New beginnings
2013 was a year of changes. It brought us to a new place, challenging our greatest fears and also stretching our biggest goals. Moving is always tough; you wonder how your role will change in your existing place, and what your new role will be in your new place. We have been lucky; we have made our new place a home, and have increased our circle of love and friends. We are happy, healthy, and looking toward the future with joy and excitement.
When we first moved to the mountains, my sister encouraged me to start writing about our adventures, as this new location could not be more different than our previous home in Charlotte. I did not take her sisterly advice, and thus have to refer back to the memories we have made here over the past three and a half years. I hope to do so in a way that is authentic and truthful, but with the knowledge that things that exist in one's memory may not always be as accurate as the original occasion.
So, who are we? We are Jen and Meg; we are your run of the mill couple who is almost complete yin and yang. Meg was an incredible college lacrosse player, and has been coaching lacrosse at the college level since 2005. She is fun, loud, exciting, adventurous, and strong. I am Jen-- and while I also played college sports (nowhere near as well!), I majored in Social Work: I am pensive, sometimes quiet, reliable, authentic, and smart. We fill each other's gaps perfectly, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Our family currently consists of 2 cats, Meyran (pronounced My-rin, after my college dorm) and Baxter, and our black lab mix, Dublin. We are hoping to expand our family this year, and this blog may chronicle some of those adventures as we come into them.
I hope you enjoy what you read here as much as I enjoy writing it. I feel that I have had so many experiences I would like to share with the world through a means other than social media, for a variety of reasons. I hope to refrain from being "too" anything, and that you find here exactly what you are looking for.
